Superior-Performance Centre Units

The centre units of the EX-series micro component systems include JVC's top-line engineering and technologies, which make full use of the benefits of Wood Cone Speakers.

Hybrid Feedback Digital Amplifier

Hybrid Feedback Digital Amplifier

The JVC-original Hybrid Feedback Digital Amplifier allows the centre unit to be amazingly compact, while still delivering astounding sound matching that of high-grade analogue amplifiers. This is possible due to the use of two feedback processes — digital and analogue feedback. The former generates highly precise digital PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals, and the latter further 'brushes up' the analogue signals to ensure that the waveform of the signal at output is identical to the original. This technology cuts the distortion to one-tenth that of a conventional digital amplifier and significantly improves wood cone speaker driveability.

Aluminium 'Twin Arc Panel' Construction (EX-A1, EX-A5, EX-P1)

The Aluminium 'Twin Arc Panel' Construction features aluminium cabinets that individually house the digital amplifier and switching power supply module, physically separating the two units from the audio circuit. This effectively avoids signal interference and noise.

Bi-Amp System (EX-A10)

The Bi-Amp system assigns a separate amp each to directly drive the tweeter and woofer. Since a crossover network is not used for the speaker, there is no signal distortion caused by network parts and no signal interruption between the two ranges. The result is significantly lower distortion. This direct driving system also creates a faster rise time and more accurate response for the output waveform. This ensures higher-fidelity sound with increased dynamism.

Separate Power Supplies & Thick Aluminium Front Panel
(EX-A10)

The separate DVD player and amplifier each have their own power supply. This means audio signals in the amplifier are not affected by the electric current from the DVD player, ensuring lower noise. In addition, each front panel features 8mm-thick aluminium, which prevents unwanted vibrations.

CC Converter (EX-A10)

CC ConverterThe CC Converter (Compression Compensative Converter) improves sound quality by generating expanded digital signals. During the A/D conversion of CD recording, high frequencies in inaudible ranges (those beyond 20kHz) are removed according to the CD's sampling frequency. However, this affects the quality of sound in audible ranges. The CC Converter, featuring exclusive algorithms, restores those lost signals based on the recorded digital signals. It also uses high-bit quantisation to reproduce minute signals. These technologies improve the quality of the music data in the audible range, delivering superior sound close to that of the original master. The CC Converter also works well for compressed audio, such as MP3 and WMA.
